Hi , I'm Kim and I'm facilitator for the Your Voice
peer support group's in Pool, for both the daytime & evening group's.
After working in the world of the performing arts I moved to Cornwall over 10 years ago and continued working within the NHS in mental health - now totalling over 15 years.
I have personally experienced some dark times that would have destroyed me if my work colleagues, friends and family hadn't put their arms around me, and even now to continue to work things through.. A work in progress.
Not everyone is gifted with an understanding circle of friends and family. Its so important to get people talking and sharing by being part of a group that feels a bit like family.
Together, we have created a regular event; providing a confidential, inclusive, positive and safe environment to share experiences, set some goals, celebrate that small step forward, socialise and meet new friends.
A place to just be and ultimately to find your voice.
My coping mechanism is firmly set in creativity and crafting, teaching and participating. Helping others accomplish something they can be proud of.
We can all stand still, but just one step forward can change lives and open doors.
Let's make this happen, and thank you for letting me facilitate your group x

Hi, l'm Jo and l'm the facilitator for the Liskeard group which has been established for almost 2 years. Our group offers a lovely space for
women to come together and support each other.
Perhaps you are experiencing grief, anxiety, stress, low mood, loneliness or struggling with trauma. So many women have difficulties that they are facing & I hope that together we can
create a space in which we can feel safe and supported to share our experiences.
Somewhere to have a chat, know that you are not alone, and hopefully have a bit of a laugh too!
It might be a daunting thought, coming along to a group like this, but there is no pressure to share anything that you do not want to. Everyone is welcome, and I promise to do all I can to
make you feel comfortable.
There really is something magical about women coming together to support one another. I am so
passionate about women's mental health and empowerment which comes from my own experiences of overcoming anorexia
and domestic abuse.
Your journey will be so different to mine,
but together we can share our experiences and support each other through both the tough times and the good!
I can't wait to meet you.

Hi, I'm Jenny
I was very taken back to be asked to the group by our previous facilitator, Tammy. I have been a member from the very first Newquay group here & enjoy facilitating our friendly and welcoming group.
I want to take forward the sisterhood we have already built on, and help it grow. We are situated in a warm cozy cafe were it is a safe environment for you to chat and just be you. We always end up laughing about something by the end of group.
I had never done anything like this before, but I have my own on-going mental health struggles as well as being a carer for my husband for the last 8 years.
I also volunteer in a community fridge twice a week helping the homeless and people in need of help. Along side that, I also visit elderly homes twice a week for a couple of hours where I sing and drink tea with the residents incase they are lonely that week, or need a laugh.
Come to my group every over othrr Wednesday were you can grab a hot drink and cake or biscuits, and meet other women who know what it's like to live under the cloud of poor mental health.
I look forward to seeing you.
Jenny
Note from our Directors: What an incredible testament to see how far Jenny has come on her journey! We're very lucky to have her onboard with her huge sense of empathy, compassion and listening skills.
Jan joined us in July '23 and is an incredible part of our team. Having her own lived experience of poor mental health, as well as sadly losing her son Luke, to suicide, Jan knows what it is like to
navigate the journey that mental illness brings.
Jan is a fantastic listener and brings empathy, understanding and compassion to our Helston group, as well as a wicked sense of humour.

I have two beautiful daughter's and my eldest is diagnosed ADHD and awaiting her ASD diagnosis. We have been in the "system" for over 8 years and what a frustrating time it's been!
We've had paper work lost, forms refused and my favourite..... when
the professional says "she's not that bad!"
This is such a lonely place for our kids but it's also the same for a parent. Its hard to prioritise yourself between the appointments, life and
dreading the school ringing! This is why I feel so passionate about our group!
It's hard to pick ourselves up after they've not had the birthday party invite or we've been judged at the school gate - and the professionals
always seem to bring it back to "parenting".
I want this space to be your "hot cup of coffee" or your "have you tried this?"
It may feel like the loneliest place in the world but I promise you it's not and we are all walking a rocky path. So, let's walk it together ❤️
